The Annual Rip's Ribs Cookoff is a great day in downtown Eastland to fire up your grill and make your famous Ribs with special rubs, sauces, and more! Enjoy a variety of vendors, and more food options than you have room in your stomach for.
What pairs well with Ribs? Jazz music and Wine of course! The EHS Band host the Annual Jazz festival with bands from all over the Big Country to come in and play a variety of oldies and even current radio hits of today.
While you wait on the ribs stop by the Wine Tent, grab you a ticket and glass, and start tasting. There are 6-8 wineries from around Texas that are ready to pour you a tasting of their famous wines. Once you find the perfect glass you may purchase bottles and cases for you to enjoy at home.
Each year we give away over $2,500 in cash prizes to the top cookoff teams! Cooks can enter the “People’s Choice” categories in Appetizers, Beans, Desserts, and/or Meat (excluding St. Louis-style pork ribs) for $10 per category or $30 for all four. Winners in these additional categories will split the entry pot and a year’s worth of bragging rights.
